Have you been to the doctor for the same problem many times only to hear them tell you ‘I find the results of your tests to be normal.’ You know something is wrong, you do the right thing and go to the doctor, yet they keep saying ‘you are normal’. You leave the office without any offers to help you feel better and it may even leave you feeling a bit down. The question I pose to you: When is it time to find a new doctor?
Medical doctors have spent a lot of time researching and working towards their degree so that they can help you. They have had text books to learn from, lectures from other doctors who specialize in certain areas and even gone through residency at various hospitals. Most of them are quite successful and very good, but what happens when a patient leaves an office with the same information they walked in with minus the bucks spent for that visit? This should set up some red flags for the individual to begin researching ‘their problem’ and find more information through the internet. If a doctor has not given you a solution to help you with your problem, start looking for a new doctor. These doctors may not know what is wrong with you now or ever.
Many insurance companies give the individual some flexibility to change doctors. If you are in doubt then contact your medical insurance company and tell them exactly what you are trying to do so that they can help guide you. When you think you have found the ‘right’ doctor, interview them. By this I mean ask them a lot of questions that are important to you and the type of care you expect to receive.
Many insurance companies will require you to have a Primary Care Physician. The primary doctors are the first line of defense and based on their findings may refer you to a specialist. The specialist will take ‘your problem’ to the next level, and if they are good will become obsessed in finding out what that problem is and find a solution.
Don’t let a doctor tell you nothing is wrong when YOU know something is wrong. Become a strong self-advocate and push for what you want. Nobody else will do these things for you. Persistence will pay off!
Alternative medicine:
Chiropractors work with aligning the spine. The spine has many nerves associated to organs and other parts of the body. When they align the spine and allow the nerves to function properly the body begins to heal itself without medications. Healthy cell regeneration comes into play and what is necessary to become healthy again. Chiropractors cannot ‘heal’ you; rather they help your body to heal itself through spinal adjustments.
Lets look an example. You have sinus infections all the time or headaches all the time. By having your spine adjusted and taking the pressure off nerves that feed those areas you can not only get rid of the repetitive sinus infections and headaches, you will feel better without medications.
Another example: Stomach problems, intestinal problems such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome or even indigestion. Having spinal adjustments that remove stress from nerves that feed those areas can alleviate all of those symptoms. I am a walking example of having my body cure itself through spinal adjustment. I ‘used to’ have IBS and now it is gone! Yes GONE! No more meds, no more doctor visits and I can eat what I want. I used to have a steady supply of antacids for home and in my purse, but not anymore.
Here is an analogy to help you better understand spinal adjustments: A typical garden hose that is ‘healthy’ will deliver 100% of the water from its source to its destination with no leaks along the way. A garden hose that is ‘not healthy’ will deliver less than 100% of the water to its destination because it has leaks. Your spine and its nerves are like that garden hose. If it is not a healthy spine you will not feel 100% and you may seek help from traditional medicine when what you may only need is a Chiropractor and spinal adjustments.
