Before I took the plunge into finding a domain name that worked and was not already used, I worked on finding out all I could about Hosting and which one might be the best fit for my needs. There are a lot of Hosting Services out there and reading reviews for many days took time but was time well spent.
I used Wordpress and I needed to find a Host that could support Wordpress. I looked at what each had to offer and created a list of these Hosting sites and began to compare what each had to offer. BlueHost became the host of choice based on all the information I could gather on them and I have been very please with them.
I recently received a request from an affiliate to add some other data to my domain but I was not exactly sure what I needed to do. It seemed way over my head in the technical department and I probably should not have even attempted messing with this while I had a fever. After searching the BlueHost Knowledge Base it became apparent that I couldn’t take care of this request through my cPanel. I filed a ticket with BlueHost by copying and pasting the affiliate request then sent it off to them. They were working on my request immediately and notified me via email that it would be all finalized within 3 hours. I decided to go rest again with that fever.
Later in the day I went to look at my administrative panel for my web site and kept getting the screen of death saying my site was gone and not found. I had a moment of panic. I gathered my thoughts and found Live Chat through BlueHost to help. This is where my hero Kyle comes in! I got into Live Chat and he was able to locate the ticket and figured out what was going on. As I mentioned earlier, it was all very technical and I let BlueHost handle it. Kyle explained that what I had copied and pasted into my ticket was a request for me to leave BlueHost and change to this affiliate! GASP!! I felt duped! This affiliate didn’t write the instructions clear enough for me to figure that out! I chatted with Kyle and didn’t want to sound like a complete fool but I was very honest with him and he was great! He asked me, based on our conversation, if I wanted these settings placed back to the defaults. Definitely YES! I told him. He returned all the settings back to their original defaults and I started to breathe again. Kyle did an excellent job of performing virtual CPR in Live Chat and I am so very grateful to him for that. I think I said Thank You a few times and even though I said it and saw the words in the chat box, I wanted to keep typing 'thank you thank you thank you' over and over again. I also told him that I saw a post in my future!!
Each person who is searching for a web host needs to identify what is most important to them when making a decision on who will get to power their web site for the internet. For me, it was Customer Service! BlueHost touts superb Customer Service and satisfaction and they are not lying when they say that! Thank you BlueHost; your staff is patient, professional and very knowledgeable…..you guys rock! I have dealt with only a few companies like yours in my lifetime and I am so glad that I did my homework and chose you to power my site!
